Are the refrigerated trailers lockable?
Yes, we provide all customers with a key to secure the trailer door.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Thetford, Norfolk. We cover East Anglia and beyond. We also have a vast network of fridge trailer hire contacts and are able to arrange fridge and freezer bookings throughout England. So no matter where you require mobile refrigeration, we will do our best to assist you.
When will you deliver and collect the refrigerated trailer?
Delivery and collection times are flexible. We understand the urgency when there has been a fridge or freezer breakdown. If we have a refrigerated trailer available, we will aim to get it to you ASAP to allow you to continue to trade.
For booked events, we will contact you two weeks prior to the hire date to arrange a mutually agreeable delivery and collection date/time. For a typical weekend event, we would deliver on a Friday (to give time for the food or drink to chill) and collect late Sunday or early Monday.
How is the refrigerated trailer delivered?
We tow the refrigerated trailer to the required location and manoeuvre it into place. Please ensure adequate turning space for both the towing vehicle and the trailer.
Can the refrigerated trailer be positioned anywhere on site?
Yes, as long as the ground is level and there is enough space for our vehicle to deliver and turn around. The trailer must be positioned as close to the power supply as possible (no more than 20 metres away.)
Does a refrigerated trailer come with shelving?
Yes, all of our trailers come with shelving. However, the shelving can be removed if it is not required.
Can we move the refrigerated trailer?
The trailer must not be towed or moved once positioned and set up by Champion Chillers. All trailers are fitted with anti-theft devices at the time of delivery.
Can we collect the trailer ourselves?
No, sorry we are unable to allow self-drive hire due to insurance reasons.
What power supply does a refrigerated trailer need?
Our refrigerated trailers operate from a standard 13amp plug or 16amp from a generator (cable supplied).
Does a trailer have steps?
Yes, our trailers all have a fitted step to assist entry and exit.
What happens if the rear door shuts with somebody inside?
No need to panic, there is an emergency exit button on the inside of the door.
Are the trailers easy to use?
Yes, we deliver and set up the trailers so that they are ready for you to use as soon as they reach the required temperature.
How long does it take for a fridge or freezer trailer to reach temperature?
This is dependent on a number of variables. In cooler weather, the trailers reach temperature very quickly. In warmer weather, it can take slightly longer to reach the required temperature. We are happy to provide advice regarding this and will always deliver the trailer with enough time for it to reach the required temperature for your refrigeration needs. Items to be stored inside a freezer trailer MUST already be frozen.
How can I make payment?
Payment is made by bank transfer. We require a 25% deposit to secure the booking, with the remaining 75% due no later than 2 weeks prior to your hire date. For emergency bookings, we require full payment prior to delivery.
